Here are a few of my favorite verses for times when I don't understand:
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on
earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I
have overcome the world.” John 16:33
“So do not fear, for I am
with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you
and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah
41:10
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified
because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never
leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
“Peace I leave
with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14.27
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning." Psalm 30:5
